To us, Rwandan coffee feels like a hidden gem. Overshadowed by Ethiopian or Kenyan offerings, Rwandan coffees represent excellent quality and more than twenty years of investment from the country. Coffee was identified as a cornerstone of the country's post-genocide agricultural recovery in 2000 and production has benefited from this emphasis.
This lot comes from members of the Kinini Village cooperative, which has been operating since 2014. Upon cupping we were struck by this lot's sweetness, medium-body, and citrus highlights that stuck around long after a sip.
